“My mission is to provide patients with damaged knees all available options to relieve pain and restore maximum function. My Sports Medicine background has taught me to approach these complex knees from a preserve and protect standpoint…..that is, to only repair what is damaged and to never replace what is still viable. That said, I always use biology (growing or grafting with living tissue) when available and only move on to prosthetic (non-biologic) implantation when all else fails. If biology is not an option, I use a minimalist approach to prosthetic implantation, using mini-implants that Resurface only the damaged areas….leaving the remainder of the knee intact. Partial Knee Replacement is explored in many cases when the patient is younger and has a large portion of the knee that is undamaged. Lastly, if Total Knee Replacement is the only option, I utilize the most advanced implant materials designed to last for decades, as well as low profile, custom components that very closely match the normal human knee contour and motion, thereby providing maximum function. ”

Our Patients love Dr. Yacobucci!

Amazed at the service I received from you!! I had an appointment with “another” orthopedic practice set for 9 days and they called me the DAY before to tell me they now didn’t take my insurance (info I could have used EIGHT DAYS AGO!!) I endured the pain for 8 days! Then I called your practice and had an appointment in two hours!..here’s how it went…

I went to TOCA at 2222 E. Highland at 2pm … filled out paperwork and they said they’d get me right in..less than 5 minutes later I’m in the room..less than 3 minutes later Dr. is in..he say X-ray will be right in.. less than 30 seconds later I’m off to X’ray..10 minutes later I’m back in the room…3 minutes later & the Dr. is back in the room and explains no rips or tears just arthritis that I can help heal with anti-inflammatories and excercise…say they will be right in to drain my knee and give me a cortisone shot..less than 1 minute later the tech is there and less than 3 minutes later procedure is done and I have instructions…I ask if it’s OK to see the X-rays and the doctor says “Sure!” and explains everything and give me a quick biology lesson to boot! By MILES the most efficient Doctor visit I have had EVER! Amazing … I’m inviting them to St. Croix! THIS is how to run a practice!!!

I was first referred to Dr. Yacobucci over 15 years ago by another orthopedist who felt that I was “beyond what he could do for me”.  I appreciated his honesty and willingness to put my safety and health first… and the fact that he lead me to TOCA.  Dr. “Yaco” has performed 3 surgeries on my knees, one of which being a complex meniscus transplant.  He answered ALL of my questions, treated me with respect and as an equal in the decision making process on MY body, and performed surgeries flawlessly.  His PA and staff have always been accommodating and since I travel 180 miles to see him is quite appreciated!  I have been a dance teacher for over 30 years and when I went to him I truly believed my career (and passion) was done.  His efforts gave me back my life and indirectly impacted hundreds, possibly thousands of children whom I would have never had the chance to meet had it not been for him.  I would encourage everyone who is facing a challenging diagnosis or surgery to understand first YOU must take responsibility for educating yourself on the condition, risks and rehabilitative process.  This way you can go into any Dr.’s office knowing that they are not God…they can’t fix you.  However, they are your PARTNER and together with open communication and commitment on both sides you will have the positive result that you BOTH want.

Dr. Yacobucci is the BEST! He repaired my right shoulder for me on Nov 9, 2016 and 2 weeks later I could move it in every direction. 5 weeks after surgery I felt better than I have in over 10 years! Dr. Yacobucci has given me a new out look on life, before surgery I felt like I was old and worn out and would have shoulder pain for the rest of my life. Now I feel great and can play with my grandson again! Thank you Dr. Yacobucci!
